Frequently asked

Questions about our reviews & rankings.

01How do you score and rank tools?
Every tool is evaluated across six weighted criteria: setup experience, daily UX, feature depth, support quality, price-to-value, and data portability. Each review follows the same fixed research protocol - official documentation, pricing pages, verified user reviews, and community discussions - no reviewing from the brochure. The full rubric and weights are published on our Methodology page.
02How often are reviews and comparisons updated?
Scores are re-evaluated quarterly or whenever a tool ships a major update that changes the product meaningfully. Pricing is re-checked at the same time - every review shows an "updated" date so you know exactly how fresh the data is.
03Are your reviews independent?
Yes. We earn affiliate commissions when readers sign up through some of our links, but the rankings come from the same rubric applied identically to every tool. Vendors never see our scores before publication and paid partnerships never influence where a product ranks.
04Can I request a new tool or category?
Absolutely - use the suggestion form on the homepage or drop us a message. We prioritise requests by audience demand, so the more people ask for the same tool, the faster it gets scheduled. We aim to publish new reviews within 3–5 weeks of committing to a tool.
05Why are some categories still empty?
We add categories gradually to maintain review quality - rushing a category with thin coverage helps nobody. Each new category gets a proper launch: a full set of ranked tools, at least one comparison, and a buying guide before we consider it ready.
06Can I compare tools across different categories?
Not directly - cross-category comparisons rarely produce useful verdicts because the tools solve different problems. If you're evaluating two tools that overlap (say, a project management app with invoicing), our individual reviews will flag those edge cases in the "Good for / Skip if" sections.
